{"id":4234,"date":"2011-09-12T01:08:10","date_gmt":"2011-09-12T01:08:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gailmcnaughton.com\/blog\/?p=4234"},"modified":"2011-09-14T02:00:51","modified_gmt":"2011-09-14T02:00:51","slug":"september-11-2011-sharing-my-poetry-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gailmcnaughton.com\/blog\/september-11-2011-sharing-my-poetry-2\/","title":{"rendered":"September 11, 2011 &#8211; Sharing My Poetry"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>GOD\u2019S WINDOW<\/h2>\n<p>By Gail McNaughton<\/p>\n<p>I was fearful to die,<\/p>\n<p>But I cast my eye,<\/p>\n<p>Out the window,<\/p>\n<p>And instead of a gigantic obstacle,<\/p>\n<p>That would shatter my world forever,<\/p>\n<p>Like it has for the friends and family,<\/p>\n<p>I leave behind,<\/p>\n<p>God\u2019s window appeared before me.<\/p>\n<p>I felt the impact,<\/p>\n<p>And was jarred and then,<\/p>\n<p>Thwarted,<\/p>\n<p>In, what seemed like,<\/p>\n<p>Many directions.<\/p>\n<p>The plane dismantled,<\/p>\n<p>But my soul just parachuted,<\/p>\n<p>And God salvaged me,<\/p>\n<p>Penetrating me with,<\/p>\n<p>Grace, radiance and love.<\/p>\n<p>The heart beat of the universe,<\/p>\n<p>The shear comfort of being home,<\/p>\n<p>And this essence of completeness,<\/p>\n<p>Wove itself,<\/p>\n<p>Through the miniscule fibers,<\/p>\n<p>Of my being.<\/p>\n<p>For a few moments,<\/p>\n<p>I remembered excruciating pain,<\/p>\n<p>My life passing before me,<\/p>\n<p>And profound sorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Instantly it vanished;<\/p>\n<p>It turned to love and joy.<\/p>\n<p>My die cast was at fruition &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>I suffered for humanity,<\/p>\n<p>To, rethink and expand,<\/p>\n<p>Within new dimensions,<\/p>\n<p>As the earth is shifting from,<\/p>\n<p>Violence to peace.<\/p>\n<p>I have been one of the forerunners,<\/p>\n<p>And what better way to find,<\/p>\n<p>Humility in the midst of,<\/p>\n<p>Such a surreal direct encounter,<\/p>\n<p>With war.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Angels are with us,<\/p>\n<p>And have prevailed over our orientation,<\/p>\n<p>That we are deeply involved in \u2013<\/p>\n<p>This incident is yet a passing,<\/p>\n<p>A unique catastrophic awareness,<\/p>\n<p>That in order for humans to,<\/p>\n<p>Celebrate their joy,<\/p>\n<p>That is,<\/p>\n<p>Readably,<\/p>\n<p>Available to them,<\/p>\n<p>They must find peace.<\/p>\n<p>This knowledge could,<\/p>\n<p>Stabilize the life force,<\/p>\n<p>And encourage,<\/p>\n<p>The celebration of life,<\/p>\n<p>And exemplify,<\/p>\n<p>The freedoms of the universe,<\/p>\n<p>That are meaningful to,<\/p>\n<p>Every human being.<\/p>\n<p>The persecutors and the persecuted,<\/p>\n<p>Are united in learning but,<\/p>\n<p>From different angles.<\/p>\n<p>This extreme and profound,<\/p>\n<p>World incident will be,<\/p>\n<p>Difficult to swallow and leave,<\/p>\n<p>Fuel for hostility and sorrow,<\/p>\n<p>Retaliation and bitterness.<\/p>\n<p>If we ignite the fire,<\/p>\n<p>We will bring on what we believe.<\/p>\n<p>Find the balance in your thinking.<\/p>\n<p>Take time for solitude to reflect,<\/p>\n<p>And let the compassion in your heart,<\/p>\n<p>Balloon you higher than the Twin Towers.<\/p>\n<p>Soar above all the worldly nuances,<\/p>\n<p>To a new and better world &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>One which we value,<\/p>\n<p>Enough to make dramatic changes,<\/p>\n<p>In our thinking and perspectives &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>One which our fellow man,<\/p>\n<p>Died for on this day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>September 13, 2001<\/p>\n<p><em>War on the United States in New York City, September 11, 2001<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This Poem was sent to Lisa Beamer on January 29, 2002.\u00a0 Her husband died in the plane crash and saved the plane from doing further harm.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GOD\u2019S WINDOW By Gail McNaughton I was fearful to die, But I cast my eye, Out the window, And instead of a gigantic obstacle, That would shatter my world forever, Like it has for the friends and family, I leave behind, God\u2019s window appeared before me.
