{"id":4665,"date":"2012-03-01T19:41:36","date_gmt":"2012-03-01T19:41:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gailmcnaughton.com\/blog\/?p=4665"},"modified":"2012-03-01T19:44:37","modified_gmt":"2012-03-01T19:44:37","slug":"the-four-seasons-mixed-media-art","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gailmcnaughton.com\/blog\/the-four-seasons-mixed-media-art\/","title":{"rendered":"The Four Seasons Mixed Media Art"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is the latest Mixed Media artwork I have done.\u00a0 I put a border around the outside and it has various colours in it of green, black and fray.\u00a0 The artwork moves from Winter on the right to Fall on the left.\u00a0 You can see that I continue with my doodle art evolution even in this art with dots and slashes and such.\u00a0 There is a nest in the tree in Spring with two eggs in it and a Cardinal in the tree in the Summer.\u00a0 This artwork is sitting on the glass table up north with a bear candle (given to me by a neighbour Judy) on the right and another bird\u2019s nest on the left (bought at the Horton Farmer\u2019s Market.\u00a0 I am going to add some gold on the dark leaves of Fall.\u00a0 I have added glitter (sparkles that I love) to the snow in the Winter scene but it is hard to see.\u00a0 To make snow we added salt to the water colour and it bubbled and then when the paint was dry you brush it off.\u00a0 You will see typical seasonal foliage along the bottom.\u00a0 I had lots of fun doing this.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Four Seasons<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The seasons of our lives are captured in this Four Seasons Mixed Media art.\u00a0 Do we run and hide in the Winter or play outside and dance in the snowflakes seeing the sparkle of nature around us?\u00a0 Do we take on new things in our lives in the Spring like moving, planning events, taking courses, self evaluation?\u00a0 Do we search high and low for Spring Flowers to pick to put inside?\u00a0 Do we luxuriate in the summer with its warm climate, magical flora and song-filled trees of our birdie friends?\u00a0 Do we think about our past in the Fall or anticipate where we are going as we get back into the swing of things after the romance and recreation of Summer?\u00a0 Fall is my favourite time of the year and I anticipate cool nights, soft lighting, autumn walks in the forest or down a country road.\u00a0 It is a time when the trees and branches shine with spectacular colour and I feel like God has painted the earth.\u00a0 There is nothing like having falling leaves spread their wings and brush your body while sunbathing in the sunlight as they make a welcome mat for you to walk on.<\/p>\n<p>***********************************<br \/>\n&#8220;Gail &#8230;&#8230;
