In this season of our lives,<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will always be my friend.<\/p>\n

Dear \u201cPoppy Pin\u201d, everyone knows you,<\/p>\n

As you sit patiently on the lapels,<\/p>\n

Of people who honour you.<\/p>\n

I bow to you in acknowledgement,<\/p>\n

Of what you stand for,<\/p>\n

In a changing world,<\/p>\n

Where change is at every corner.<\/p>\n

We must all think about your sacrifice,<\/p>\n

To bring freedom and peace,<\/p>\n

And honour you in the world,<\/p>\n

As a good will ambassador,<\/p>\n

As the reminder of what could be<\/p>\n

And what has gone on before.<\/p>\n

You can slip off our lapels so easily,<\/p>\n

And this is to remind us how loosely,<\/p>\n

We are tied to freedom,<\/p>\n

And how we must,<\/p>\n

Continually keep being vigilant.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll cry for you just for today,<\/p>\n

For so many people have been lost to war,<\/p>\n

And I\u2019ll stand up tall to protect and save,<\/p>\n

Your everlasting memory,<\/p>\n

In the pages of our lives,<\/p>\n

Not only today but every day.<\/p>\n
