Peacock With Seeing Eyes

Peacocks Guard The Castle Of Prince Rupert of Fantasy Land

These peacocks guard the castle of Price Rupert, the Prince of Fantasy Land.  They are blessed with iridescent blue-green plumage.  They strut around the castle displaying their shimmering fans to onlookers.  The ladies of the Court love them and feed them sweet treats.  Being fearless they can do Price Albert’s biddings to keep the palace safe.  Their eye spots are enticing and they mesmerize their prey so if you don’t want to get caught in “their land of a 1000 eyes, look away.

Popcorn Magical Mystery Forest

It’s night and you notice the sparkle on the trees in the moonlight and then you see popcorn balls in colours of gold, yellow, black and cyan.  Up until now you would have been frightened walking in this dark forest but now that your childhood fear of visiting ghostly forests  has vanished, you see popcorn balls.  Perhaps you see nature this way because you have a sweet tooth!  You look up to see the wonderful forest for what it really is – “treats”.  Some popcorn has fallen and you are going to take a taste and that is when you discover butterscotch, licorice, maple syrup and other flavours of popcorn balls.  You invite your friends to come along too and your party starts here.

Family Clarity – Mixed Media Collage

Family Clarity

We are all a part of God’s family so the angels surround us everywhere to help guide us.  My Father and Mother were young once and went through the stages of life, growing old and going home to be with God and the Angels.  Here I am playing with the Angels and trying to be one of them.  My Father died on Remembrance Day so the little verse in the picture is about poppies being sent as a Valentine.  My Mom was his Valentine with red hair, freckles and a great big winning smile, a feisty attitude, good wife and career woman.  Birds carry messages on their wings and I have included an owl and Fairy wearing a song-filled bodily frock with a song in her heart.  It is said, “A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.” (Author Unknown)  They both have big hearts and are there to help anyone who asks.  The angels tell me that you just need to ask them for help and they say that few people are asking these days so many are feeling unemployed.  We all have a picture of special people in our lives and the angels hold our energy and soul close to them so that they can keep an eye on us and be ready to serve.  My Mom is hugging me in the bottom right corner and that is as good as it ever gets and a real remember when.  I am snuggled up in a snowsuit and she is wearing a racoon fur coat.  Interesting that I also own one too.  In the bottom left corner is The Unity cat draped with a sacred sash.  In the top right hand corner is a Flower Fairy and in the left top corner is baby Angel Grapeathia who sits and prays with the other angels.

The Four Seasons Mixed Media Art

This is the latest Mixed Media artwork I have done.  I put a border around the outside and it has various colours in it of green, black and fray.  The artwork moves from Winter on the right to Fall on the left.  You can see that I continue with my doodle art evolution even in this art with dots and slashes and such.  There is a nest in the tree in Spring with two eggs in it and a Cardinal in the tree in the Summer.  This artwork is sitting on the glass table up north with a bear candle (given to me by a neighbour Judy) on the right and another bird’s nest on the left (bought at the Horton Farmer’s Market.  I am going to add some gold on the dark leaves of Fall.  I have added glitter (sparkles that I love) to the snow in the Winter scene but it is hard to see.  To make snow we added salt to the water colour and it bubbled and then when the paint was dry you brush it off.  You will see typical seasonal foliage along the bottom.  I had lots of fun doing this.

The Four Seasons

The seasons of our lives are captured in this Four Seasons Mixed Media art.  Do we run and hide in the Winter or play outside and dance in the snowflakes seeing the sparkle of nature around us?  Do we take on new things in our lives in the Spring like moving, planning events, taking courses, self evaluation?  Do we search high and low for Spring Flowers to pick to put inside?  Do we luxuriate in the summer with its warm climate, magical flora and song-filled trees of our birdie friends?  Do we think about our past in the Fall or anticipate where we are going as we get back into the swing of things after the romance and recreation of Summer?  Fall is my favourite time of the year and I anticipate cool nights, soft lighting, autumn walks in the forest or down a country road.  It is a time when the trees and branches shine with spectacular colour and I feel like God has painted the earth.  There is nothing like having falling leaves spread their wings and brush your body while sunbathing in the sunlight as they make a welcome mat for you to walk on.
